- If you are eligible for a rest break (i.e. your shiti is of six or more hours) you are entitled to a paid 20 minute rest break which is to be taken at such time as directed by your line manager. If you wish to take a break at a diﬀerent time for a specific reason, you should seek your manager’s permission. Failure to do so could put you at risk of taking unauthorised absence from work.
- Depending on the nature of your work and the needs of the Company, you may be required to take breaks at diﬀerent times designated by a senior member of staﬀ who may not necessarily be your manager. If you are unable to change your break time, you must explain the reason to the person requiring you to make the change who will, if possible, try to accommodate your needs.
